Orchestral Arts inc. (OAi) specializes in acoustics and audio. In particular, OAi has developed a reputation for dealing with the challenges associated with the high-level requirements of acoustics and sound systems in very large facilities.

An artist playback room for an international label, 7.1 surround screening room, film industry sound stage, worship spaces, entertainment venue, stadium, jersey retirement ceremony, season home opener, new facility for a sports franchise and concerts, Orchestral Arts provides on-site sound consulting services across Canada.

Lead consultant Dale Fawcett’s experience is exceptionally diverse. He introduced the idea of using an acoustic analyzer at every venue visited. A model created by Orchestral Arts was used by the European Union’s Dr. Wolfgang Ahnert to present the latest research at an international conference.

As a musician, Dale Fawcett performed with the Canadian Brass and the Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra. His performances in England included a concert at St. Paul’s Cathedral. At the Royal College of Music he was presented to Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother. At the college he received the Ricordi and Sir Adrian Boult Prizes.

As a studio musician, Fawcett sat in on sessions with Doug Riley. Riley was a mainstay of Canada’s music scene both as arranger and keyboardist. Studio time also included work for Rob McConnell of the Boss Brass, laying down radio spots and commercials, and tracks for record producers. He was privileged to record with jazz legend Guido Basso. Fawcett performed on 12 television shows, Celebration, a series which aired on the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation. He has four album credits on Columbia Records, now Sony Masterworks.
